Training
A Typical training session includes:
- meet and greet
- equipment and its use/instruction
- movement, tracking with eyes and body
- athletic ability to play the position
Skill Development:
Using their own equipment students slide in the crease, practice in the school rink and use the school gym equipment to build muscle strength.
Strengths necessary to be a Goalie:
- Physical strength
- Quick reflexes
- Mental attitude
- Understanding and playing the position properly
- Skating ability
Position Techniques:
- Forward/Reverse in skate edges
- Butterfly
- Lateral slide
- T-push
